First written government written by 41 english colonists on the Mayflower ship. -

Colonists were required to buy a British stamp for every official document they owned. -
Boston Tea Party
The dumping of 342 chest of tea into the Boston harbor by Massachuestes colonists in protest of the British Parliaments Tea Act. -
First Continental Congress
They met to discuss how to assume more power than the British but all ofthe colonies had different ideas. They filed there grievences to the King and to the British. -
Lexington and Concord
This battle marked the start of the American Revolutionary War. -
Declaration of Independence
The document that declared the American colonists seperate from Great Britain. -
Second Continental Congress
The main purpose of this second Continental Congress was to figure out how to defeat the British army. -
Articles of Confederation
This served as the United States first constituiton. -
Peace Treaty with Great Britain
This ended the American Revolutionary War. -
Shay's Rebellion
Massachuestes colonist were resitsting taxes and were frusturated with the unresponsive government in Boston so they rebelled in an American Revolution type of way. Couldnt get an exact date. -
Constitutional Convention
It was a meeting between all of the delegates to revise the Articles of Confederation. -
Virginia Plan
Outlined what would become the United States government. -
Connecticut Compromise
Agreement between large and small states during the Constitutional Congress. -
New Jersey Plan
William Peterson presented this at the Philadelphia Convention and is reasserted the smaller states' positions. -
3/5 Compromise
Compromise between the southern and northern states that dealt with slaves for representation. -
Commerce/Slave Trade Compromise
South wouldn't use slaves if the north gave them commerce. Couldn't find the exact date for this one. -
Rhode Island Ratifies
They were the last colony to ratify the Constitution. -
The Bill of Rights
States the rights of the people and is listed in the preamble of the constitution.
