  • Zimmermann Telegram

    The Telegram from the German prime minister to Mexico that basically said if Mexico helped them, they'd fight for Mexico and get some states including Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico back for Mexico to rule over.
  • The WWI Armistice

    The agreement that ended warfare against the German people on land, sea, and in the air.
  • The 19th Amendment

    The Amendment passed on June 4th, 1919 that gave women the right to vote. It was ratified on the date it is under.
  • Charles Lindbergh's Flight

    In the Spirit of Saint Louis, Charles landed in Paris on this day, completing the first non-stop transatlantic flight. He did it having no sleep the previous night, too.

    The Stock Market crashed. Many Americans lost jobs over time, and the Great Depression ensued.

    It gave Germany the area of Czechoslovakia called Sudeten German Territory. This violated a treaty France had with Czechoslovakia, so another event called the Munich Betrayal also happens around this time.
  • Hitler Invades Poland

    Hitler didn't spare anything or anyone, and this became known as Blitzkrieg or Lightning War.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Japan bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, USA, even though they claimed all the while planning to have peace with America. Many, many sailors were killed. This Sunday morning event led to the US getting involved in WW2
  • D-Day

    There were actually a couple of D-Days. It was code to refer to a naval attack. This made the foundations of the Allies Win in the War. It began by liberating France.
  • Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    The USA dropped two nuclear bombs over these cities in Japan, killing hundreds of thousands, and doing exponential damage to the DNA of the survivors. So far, it is the only use of nuclear weapons in armed conflict.

    This mission was the first to place humans on the moon including Neil Armstrong. It was an American mission against Russia, and the American flag still stands on the moon.
  • The Watergate break-ins

    Police arrested burglars who had been involved. Evidence linked the break-in to President Richard Nixon's re-election campaign.
  • Nixon Resigns from Office

    President Nixon resigned because impeachment was certainly coming his way, due to the Watergate Scandal. He was the first president to resign.

    A Switzerland citizen introduced the Internet to the world.
  • The Fall of the Berlin Wall

    The Wall built in 1961 was torn down on this day, allowing people to cross the border.
  • 9/11

    al-Quaeda hijackers try to fly 4 planes into buildings, two of which succeeded. This caused the destruction of the World Trade Center. And the deaths of millions, including the hijackers. President Bush responded by arresting suspected al-Qaeda members and resorting to forms of torture to extract information at Black Cites across the world and Guantanamo Bay. The torture memos were written shortly after.
