    According to healthy living the typical five year old will make up their own rules, are healthy eaters and will be very investigative. As the child progresses through the years to age ten the child's behavior changes and matures to independence, self reliants and will eventually accept parents rules and begins to obey.

    Erik Erikson calls this age "the tail end of the age of Industry vs Inferiority". Middle schoolers tend to complete more complex tasks and become self aware. Sometimes erratic behaviors start to transpire. A child at this age can swing from being happy to sad in an instance. It is common for mood swings and possible spouts of anger.

    During the teenage years the brain develops at a rapped rate and children may become impulsive and reward seeking. According to drug free.org It is typical for a child at this stage in development to have "difficulty holding back or controlling emotions" and to have "Poor Planning and Judgement" Moreover the teenager may try to partake in more risky or impulsive behaviors.
