World War 1
World war 1 was a war between 2 different groups of countries, The Allies and the Central Powers. The countries involved in The "Allies" are Russia, France, British Empire, Italy, United States, Japan, Rumania, Serbia, Belgium, Greece, Portugal and Montenegro. The Countries Involved in The "Central Powers" are Germany, Austria-Hungary, Turkey and Bulgaria. World War 1 Started on July 28th, 1914 and Ended November 11, 1918. Many people died during this period of time. -
The National Hockey League Begins (NHL)
The National Hockey League began on November 26th, 1917 and still hasnt ended. It is headquartered in New York and has 30 different ice hockey teams. At the end of each season The famous Stanley Cup is awarded to the team that wins the championships of the NHL. The National Hockey League is the most well known and famous hockey league in the world. -
Women Win The Vote
The first federal election in Canada was held in August, 1867. Women didn't have the right to vote in it. They even had all the same requirements and still couldnt be allowed to vote. After the voting on May 24th, 1918 things sure changed though! Women Won the right to vote! -
The Great Depression
The Great Depression also known as "The Dirty 30's" was awful years. During these days people were very poor, considering the stock market crashed, businesses were going bankrupt and had to close down, During this time there were also awful dust storms and drought. The Great Depression exsisted from October 29th, 1929 through the 1930's. -
