    Trust Issues

I was born on 11/3/1984 and started walking by age one. In this learning stage my mom was an addict and didn't watch me. By two, I had stitches from two falls. One fall, I hit the top of my head on the corner of a table. I still have that scar. Due to my needs not being met at Stage 1: Trust vs. Mistrust of Erikson’s Stages, I have trust issues with everyone. It is hard to trust when the most important person didn't care about your basic needs. I hope one day I'll be able to fully trust someone.

    Initiative vs Guilt

Before my 6th birthday in 1990, I started cooking simple meals for me and my siblings. It correlates with Erickson’s 3rd stage Initiative vs Guilt, I started making more decisions on my own. As a result, I felt my contribution was real and made an impact for myself and siblings to make up for my mom not being there. Overall, initiative can help kids gain high self-efficacy, be a leader and make decisions on their own throughout life. I believe this because I am confident in all things I do.

By 15 I moved into my own apartment and would go to my brothers teacher conferences. I developed into an independent role in society to be a positive role model for my siblings. Erikson’s 8th stage, Identity vs role confusion, I knew my identity. I stepped up to be a parent figure, I learned how to interact with my peers by working and going to school full time. During this period a sense of self-confidence and stability developed. I had to become responsible in order to provide for my family.
