Judgement of Paris
Zeus told Hermes to escort all three goddesses to Paris, to be judged by him. Hera said if she was the fairest in his eyes, she would make him king of all men. Athena promised him victory in war, and Aphrodite promised to make the most beautiful woman fall in love with him. The most beautiful woman at that time was Helen, and Paris chose Aphrodite as the fairest of the goddesses. -

Achilles wont fight
Achilles withdrew from battle when he is dishonored by Agamemnon, the commander. Agamemnon took a daughter of a priest of Apollo as his slave. Her father begged Agamemnon to return her to but he refused, so Apollo sent a plague to the Greeks. -

Patroclus fights as Achilles
Patroclus begs Achilles to let him use his armor, since he refused to fight. Achilles prays to Zeus that Patroclus and the ships will return unharmed. Zeus only granted one of Achilles prayers because Patroclus killed one of Zeus' sons. He allowed for Patroclus to rout the Trojans and then Apollo wounds Patroclus and Hector kills him. -
Death of Hector
Hector is ashamed to return to the safety of the wall of Troy. Achilles chases him three times around the perimeter of the city, and Zeus and Athena debate on the fate of Hector and Achilles. They decide that it is Hectors time to die and Athena helps Achilles defeat him. -
The death of Achilles
The death of Achilles, as predicted by Hector with his dying breath, was brought about by Paris with an arrow to the heel.
