Eris throws the "fairest apple"
Eris the Godess of chaos wanted to cause trouble in Olmypus and asked Zeusto judge who was fairest between Aphrodite, Hera, abd pallas Athena. Zeus did not want to have to decide and he told them to seek Paris, the prince of Troy because he would be the best judge. -

Paris was given the fairest apple and had to decide between Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. All three godesses were bribing Paris and he felt Aphrodite's was irresistible . She promised him the fairest mortal to be his. He chose Aphrodite. -

Thetiis visitsd Zeus in Olympus and asks him to stop the war. Zeus is reluctant but he sends a false dream to Agamemnon telling him that if he attacks he will achieve victory. -

Paris takes Helen the fairest woman who was already married to a man named Melanus. While Melanus wasnt home Paris took her. The Greeks then sought to take Helen back. -

The voyage to Troy
The voyage was long and hard on the Greek men. Artemis was mad at the Greek men because they had slain one of her hare. Calchas a soothsayer, talked to Artmeis and decided that a sacrifice had to be made. Iphigenia, the daughter of the commander in chief, had to be sacrificed. She was slain the day of her wedding but instead of walking down the isle she was drug to the sacrificial stone. After her death, the north winds calmed and the Greeks continued on. -

Achilles and Agamemnon both got into an arguement over Apollo's priest, Chryseis. Agamemnon loses the challenge and for revenge he takes Achilles's honor, his maiden Briseis. Achilles refuses to fight because of this loss. -

Thetis reaches Zeus
Thetis, the sea nymph and immortal mother of Achilles visits Mount Olympus and asks Zeus to stop the war. Zeus sends a false dream to Agamemnon that shows him in victory if he attacks. -

Melanus vs Paris
Paris strikes first in the small duel in front of both armies. Melanus fights back and picks Paris up by the crest of his helmet. Aphrodite saves him by breaking the strap holing him in his helmet. She then takes him back to Troy in a cloud at an instant. -

Hector's Death
Hector and Achilles fought with their spears. Hector threw his spear and it landed on Achilles sheild from the gods and it gave him no wounds. Athena tricked Hector. She left Hector witho only his sword and Achilles killed him with his spear. Achilles tied Hector's feet to his chariot and dragged him around. He brought him to Patroclus's body (Achilles's friend he had killed) and told him that he would feed Hector to the dogs at his funeral. -

Achilles's Death
Achilles was brought down by Paris. Achilles had one spot on his that left him vulnerable. It was his heel, his Achilles. Paris knew that when Achilles's mother had dipped him in the Styx River which was to offer him invulnerability. She dipped him by his heels. Paris was armed with a bow and shot a fatal arrow into Achilles's heel. Achilles's armor was given to Odysseus. -

Bringing down Troy
To bring down Troy the Greeks had to get the bow of Hercules. The Greeks did get the Bow and Pyrrhus, the son of Achilles, killed Paris and avenged his father with the Bow. The Trojans had lost both of their great leaders and that made it that much easier for the Greeks to conquer Troy. -

Troy is Destroyed
The Greeks had a wooden craftsman create a large horse, hollow on the inside to hold several warriors. The Trojan Horse was placed ooutside the gates of Troy and the trojans brought it inside. They were in awe of the horse and appreciated their gift. What they didnt know was that there were several Greek warriors inside. When nightfall came the warriors emerged from the horse and burnt down Troy. They did not spare any of the men. Woman were taken as prisoners and Troy was destroyed.
