The Boeing 727
The Boeing 727 had a lot of advantages in that it allowed short airfield operations but was still able to offer a good range. Rather than having to fly a short distance to a place then having to transfer over to an other plane, this plane was able to fly longer distances which is great for the tourism industry as people dont have to deal with the hustle with transforring flights. -
Boeing 747 jet liner
The Boeing 747 jet liner is a large, long range wide airplane that was made in the United States. After introducing the 707 in October of 1958, they wanted to make a bigger airplane and the Boeing 747 was it. The company wanted to make this airplane 2 and a half times bigger then the 707 which would reduce seat cost by 30%. This was good for thr tourism industry as they were able to get more people on the plane while they are saving money but still being able to make a lot. -
Deregulation of EU Air
It replaced national ownership and control restrictions with the concept a community air carrier. This allowed for a commercial airlane industry and gave a way to low-cost carriers in the United States. This is great for the tourism industry as lots more people wanted to travel as now it was cheaper and no longer a thing for just rich people. -
easyJet low-cost airline
easyJet was founded in 1995 by Sir Stelios Haji-loannou that offers low-cost flights around Europe. This is great for the tourism industry as its offering cheap flights for people travelling around Europe. This brings in more people wanting to travel as it is cheap and affordable making people wanting to travel more and bring in more money for the tourism industry. -
Azuma train
Azuma train or trains over all is a big part of the tourism industry but the Azuma train was a big inprovement for trains as it haves lots of space onboard which means that more people can get on the train, it's comfortable, free wifi and it goes fast up to 125mph. This is great for thr tourism industry as people are able to get to places faster so they are more likely to get the Azuma train as they can get there faster and this brings in more money for the tourism industy. -
Additional runway
In 2018 the goverment agreed to add a additional runway could be added at Healthrow Airport. Aswell as that the smaller London City Airport got permission to add the the existing terminal with a planned budget of £344 million. By added more to an existing terminal or added a runway is goood for the tourism industry as it brings in more customers as more flights will be added with an additional runway.
