In 1803, hundreds of Aboriginal Tasimanians were killed. They were killed because they tried to stop the convicts and soldiers from building next to their site. After that, many convicts escaped and raided aboriginal camps, killing the men and kidnapping the women -
Aboriginals forced to leave their homes
Governor Athur ordered for all aboriginal people to be moved out of their settlements. -

Convicts and soldiers came together to capture every aboiriginal person still living in the area that had already been cleared. They also were to drive the aboriginals aout of the land and into Eaglehawk Neck. Only two aboriginals were captured -
George Augustus Robinson convinced the aboriginals to leave.
George Augustus Robinson, told the aboriginals that had survived that they should move to an islnd off the coast of Tasmania for their own safety. Little did they know, George Augustus Robinson had tricked them into leaving. -
The Aboriginals moved to Flinders Island
Many aboriginals from different languauge groups moved to the small island off the coast of Tasmania. When they arrived they were forced into wearing European clothes and attend Christain cerermonies. -
Most of the Aboriginals died
By 1847, most of the Aboriginals living on Flinders Island had died due to disease and despair. The last 47 survivors were settled in Oyster Bay, but they still continued to die. -
