    The Wifi Era

From when the first forum page started until it's death.
Summary: Players from Mariokart Wii and other TrackMania Games jumped over to TMWii and formed teams to dominate the in-game leaderboard. Over time, membership of teammates and players dropped, making the remaining members join together for one last push to get all WR/revive the player base. The forum then fell silent until near the end, where the few remaining runners lost motivation once wifi went. They wrapped any loose ends they had.

G37 MAHRLA was the first known person to beat all the author times of the game. Video proof here

    3D Team

Start Date is the first time a known member commented on the forum, it may have been older. Members shared the common thread of having 3D in front of their in-game name, but not all followed this rule.
Members include (but not limited to):
-3D Dario and 3D Space (same person, also know as DarioSpace)
    -DNA

  • Release of TrackMania Wii (in US)

Release of TrackMania Wii (in US)
The game came out in North America on March 24, 2011. It has a more primitive online play system than the PC line of games. It has an unusual feature where at a certain number of medals, you can unlock a set of 'f' class bonus tracks.
  • Current WR count

    3D FLORIAN: 3 WR
3D SPACE (also known as DarioSpace): 61 WR just dethroned XD Guil for the most world records, but lost two shortly afterwards from XD Guil.

First Evidence of Snow B3 Cut
Verbal evidence of the Snow B3 cut with time and how to do it. Stadium A4 was mentioned but the time shows no proof of the cut existence.

  • XD Team Officially Fell Apart: XD GUIL Carries The Name

"That of the XD did not last as long as ours" DarioSpace. XD GUIL (cpulloverclock) is the only remaining member from the XD team and carries the Team name alone.
  • 3D Team struggles to stay alive

The 3D didn't look too much for WR for these reasons:
DNA Wii is fucked up, all WRs were made with a faulty Nunchuk
Natkent played more online than for records
Cocoow only plays occasionally (TMUF instead)
Lorc failing Wii and was mostly trying tops 10, not WR.
    Sulfuraaah no signs of life
    Jewill only plays for fun
Florian most active after me (both 3D Dario,3D Space) Conclusion: for a time our team was very conquering but over time very few were able to stay, and not necessarily at free will
  • Update on active players playing TMWii

Update on active players playing TMWii
so much info so just press on the image to see full comment Source. XD GUIL has had 50 WR on the first 50 races from Stadium A1 to Snow B5 (but never played online with others).
  • Snow F2 Pain

The hardest level in the game to get author time. At this time "less than 10 people in the world have it"-DarioSpace
  • 3rd Person to Get All Author Medals

DarioSpace: "3rd player in the world to have all the medals of author of the game, successor of Mahrla and Kazuki, indeed I have now obtained the last medal of missing author to know that of Snow F2, first 3D to have it.
Following this victory, the game told me that I had reached the highest rank, namely a "TrackManiac" player, above rank 10". People who have it: 1 XD, 1 3D and 1 G37
  • WR Count Update

The 3D team has more WRs in the B
The XD team has 60 WRs and the 3D 1 WR team in the A + B. However it is more Guillaume VS Florian and DarioSpace, instead of XD against 3D,

  • Island A5 1st reroute Founded, Stad A2 and Cheating

Island A5 1st reroute Founded, Stad A2 and Cheating
The first sub 19 was achieved on Island A5, the method was most likely the unknown cut that we can only partially see in this video the old ghost in that video.
22.89 on Stadium A2 was also achieved but due to no ghost on either map, it was thought to be cheated at the time with the maxed out 9999 points on the leader board (along with other things that are definitely cheating). Stadium A2 was shortly found out how it was achieved
  • Shortcut on Rally D1 Founded

  • World Record Total Count

There for fun I counted the number of WR of each, here is the classification:
    1) XD Guillaume: With at least 81 WR with more than 50% of the WR of the game
    2) 3D Dario: With 34 WR (down from 62). 20 on the A, or about 20% WRs of the game
    3) Marco: below 20 or 10 WR
    4) Alvin: no more than 5 WR
    5) Kazuki: 4 WR
    6) Blugh: 3 WR Then we have several people at 1 WR: Cocoow, Florian, Natkent, etc.
Basically the first 2 have between them 75% of WR, the first 3 about 80% and it continues to climb after.
  • 3D Team and XD Guil Officially Join Forces Aiming For All WR

cpulloverclock (XD GUIL) has 105 Wrs of the first 106 races (they still think island A5, 18.76 was cheated, giving 106/106 instead). DarioSpace has 36 WR making them have 141 WR combined. They are now working together to get all WR between them (November 03).
    -Nov 4, Rally F2, F3, Snow D5, 144 WR
-Nov 6, DarioSpace asks the remain members of 3D (Florian, Lorc and himself) and XD GUIL to "team up together to encourage players to come back and play"
  • Snow D5 Reroute Founded

    Snow D5 Reroute Founded
Found by cpulloverclock (XD Guil), with a time of 40.84.
  • End of 3D Team, a general stop of all

The last comment from 3D member when at least 2 members were still active was by [florian] 2. cpulloverclock (XD GUIL) said he was taking "a break for a few days (maybe a week) from TMW so as not to abuse it too much", but didn't return until 2 years later. The only players that were ever active after this date is: cpulloverclock (XD GUIL), DarioSpace (3D Dario), adnoob(non-team?), ADN83 (non-team?), stolax693 (3D FLO) (I think it's an alt of florian)
  • Island A5 2nd Reroute Founded

The first any only video showing the relatively new cut done by , Will09994. The time confused modern speed runners how the time was possible since there was no video of it on the old scoreboard, until this video was found
  • Fourm Page Active Again Only to Die

cpulloverclock (XD GUIL) brings the page back to life with playing the game again (skipping the Extreme) taking 5 WRS on Stadium F as well as Island F1 to F4, picked up Island A5. By the end of the month they learn of the The online mode of each DS and Wii game will disappear and mourns the Lost Source
  • Shutdown of Nintendo Wi-Fi

The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, which provides certain online functionality has been discontinued. Examples of Discontinued Functionality:
    Online play and matchmaking
    Leaderboards and tournament data
Sharing of user generated content (ghost data, user created levels)
source. Only screenshots of times and the rare video remain past this date, and are the only physical evidence left. The rest of the info is mouth to mouth.
  • First Evidence of Stadium F4 Reroute

Comments slow down on the forum page with response time between growing. stolax3DFLORIAN asked cpulloverclock (XD GUIL) what time did he get on Stadium F4. It took until July 11, 2014 for a response of 00.47.83. Based on this time it would match the current WR route, not the dirt overwall method.
  • The End of an Era

XD GUIL kept to his promise he made back in December 31, 2014, of finishing that he didn't do in the Fs by August 2015. He got: Snow F3, Snow F4, Snow F5, and Rally F1, making 139/155 WRs completed by XD GUIL and 3D members (mostly DarioSpace). At the end, DarioSpace asked for the WRs for the 156 circuits and who they belong to. XD GUIL answered with having all ghosts of the WRs. For the list of WRs, maybe this weekend if I have time (of which was never delivered). 3D Flo says hi in Jan, 2016.
