Video Games had gradually gotten more and more advanced, as it went through the arcade machines medium phase which is shown in Back to the Future, the computers-only phase, and now video games can be found on practically any smart-device. it is incredible to see the huge but seemingly little strides made in the 1950s and 60s, and compare it to games made just 20 years later, and then compare those to games made just 10 years later. the 80s and 90s, when Games such as Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Mortal Combat appeared. Graphics-wise, however, the biggest jump was from the early 2000s to the late 2000s. When you compare the graphical fidelity of the first halo to,say, the game Until Dawn, it shows you that resolution and visuals are becoming more of a priority over the actuall gameplay. in the coming decades. And while virtual reality is a hot topic nowadays, it has established itself as more of a fad than a legitimate gaming medium. This is why I beleive it will flop at first, take time to reinvent itself, and come back with better hardware, better game optimization, and better pricing. But, as all my predictionas state, we are very much pursuing the aesthetic aspect of video games, which is why VR and photorealism will become two branchoffs. -
