Started in the 16th century, the territories that France colonized were known as New French at that time. In their way to expand their territory, they got some problems with British colonies because the borders were not accurately established. -

France had some colonies in Canada but in the end of the Seven Year war, britains conquered some of them. British people also blocked some provisions for the american colonies of France. -
Economic troubles in UK
After obtaining territories in Canada, the United Kingdom got debts because they had to give more supplies and money beside the fact that they also had to manage the new territories. This made that the 13 colonies started to be more autonomous and to learn how to handle by their own with their problems. -
Taxes in the UK colonies
The british parlament established some rules for North America's colonies that included taxes for sugar and other merchandise. This were not good news for colonists.
