    In the summer before scout starts school Jem and Scout meet Dill who is playful and likes to go on adventures. Later he would impact Scout's life and come up with the Boo Radley obssession.
  • Scout's First Day of School

    Scout starts her first day of school, and she is nervous about what it will be like, and she soon finds out that it's not all what she hoped it would be. She is ahead of her class in reading and her teacher punished her for knowing how to read already.
  • Walter Cunningham comes over for dinner

    Walter Cunningham comes over for dinner
    Jem invites Walter over for dinner because Scout beat him up in the schoolyard. Scout thinks Walter is crazy for eating the way he does and Calpurnia talks to scout about how she should not judge people by the things they do.
  • The Hole in the tree and the Radley game

    The Hole in the tree and the Radley game
    One day, When Scout was returning from school she spotted chewing gum inside the knothole of a Radley tree. She takes it home and shows Jem and he tells her to spit it out. Jem and Scout later find that the knothole holds many gifts from a new friend.
  • Atticus attempts to stop the Radley game

    Atticus attempts to stop the Radley game
    Scout gets kicked out of Jem and Dill's group and she begins to spend for time with Miss Maudie instead. Scout gets bored and decides to try and get back into the group. She goes to see what they are doing and she finds them trying to deliver a note to Boo Radley. Instead they get caught by Atticus.
  • Another attempt at the Radley house

    Dil, Jem, and Scout get permission to stay at Dil's aunts fish pond. Dil wants to go look in the window to see Boo, they attempt it but get scared and run off. While in the process Jem gets his pants caught on the fence, every one notices Jem doesnt have pants on so Dil makes up a story about how they were playing strip poker. Later jem goes back to get his pants and finds that they were sewed up and folded.
  • Winter in Maycomb

    It is winter in Maycomb, and it snowed for the first time in years. The children have never seen snow in their whole life and they stay up all night building a snow man. When they finally go to sleep Atticus wakes them up because Miss Maudie's house was on fire. Some how while the children were standing outside the Radley house Scout got a blanket on her. They suspect Boo did it
  • Atticus talks about racism

    Atticus talks about racism
    Atticus is defending Tom Robinson, a black man in the 1930's, he knows that he will lose but he does it anyway because he believes it is the right thing to do.
  • Scout gets in trouble at school

    The children at school are making fun of Atticus and scout does not like it. They tell her Atticus should not defend the black race. She goes to Atticus for answers and he tells her he thinks everyone is equal and people that are racist are arrogant and think they are better than others.
  • Mrs.Dubose

    Mrs.Dubose
    Every time Jem and Scout passed Mrs.Dubose's house she insults them. Jem and Scout usually ignore it and move on but one day she insulted Atticus, their father, and Jim snapped. He took out Scout's scissors and cut all of her Camillia flowers. As punishment she made him come to her house every day after school and read to her for two hours .
  • The mob

    A mob shows up at the Maycomb County Jail looking for Tom Robinson, only to be stop by Atticus Finch and the help of Scout. Jem, Scout, and Dil show up at the jail just in time for Scout to diffuse the men by talking to Mr. Cunningham about his son. This show scouts innocence of the situation.
  • Bob Ewell delivers his statement

    Bob Ewell delivers his statement
    It is the day of the trial and Bob Ewell delivers his statement. He says that he was out in the woods chopping boards when he heard Mayella screaming and he ran to the house and looked in the window and saw Tom Robinson raping Mayella and he hollered at Tom and then Tom ran off. He also said he did not call a doctor but he said Mayella was beat up really bad .

    Mayella testifies
    Mayella Ewell testifies against Tom Robinson. Her story does not match up with her father's at all. She says that Tom was walking by her house when she asked him to come inside the fence and chop up some wood for her. Then she said that she was going to get a nickel to pay him for doing that for her and when she walked inside she turned around and Tom started beating her up. Then she said all she remembers after that was her dad standing over her saying "who done it?" "who done it?".
  • Tom Robinson testifies

    Tom Robinson testifies
    Tom says that one day that all this happened, Mayella asked him to come inside and look at the hinges on some doors. He says that he was wondering where all the children went. And he said Mayella told him she sent them away. He said "Mayella there is nothing wrong with the hinges on the doors." And she said "I know" and then she jumped on him and kissed him. Then he said her father came to the window and saw her and started yelling at her and calling her bad names, then thats when Tom ran off.
  • Tom is found guilty

    Atticus did a good job trying to convince the jury that Tom was innocent. It was the longest time the jury has ever been debating on whether a black man was guilty or innocent for committing such a crime. Although Tom did not commit the crime and the jury knew that he didn't they still found him guilty because of discrimination.

    Atticus pleads innocent
    Atticus tries to explain to the jury that Tom is not guilty. Of course everyone knows Tom isnt guilty. But because Tom is a black man being accused of rape but because Tom is a black man being accused of raping A white woman in the 1930s add a kiss knows that he will not win this case. But he thinks defending Tom is the right thing so he does his best in trying to show the jury that he is not guilty
  • Jem discovers the injustice in the world

    Jem discovers the injustice in the world
    After Tom is found guilty Jem cannot believe the injustice in the world. He is crying because of the guilty verdict they gave Tom. She wants to know why they found him guilty for a crime everyone knows Tom did not commit.
  • Try for an appeal

    Try for an appeal
    After the trial Atticus tells Tom not to worry and they will try to appeal. Tom does not like the idea he knows that he won't win another case he knew that he wouldn't win the case they just had.
  • Tom dies

    A few days after the trial Tom is sent to jail. He attacks a guard, and is given many warnings but is shot trying to escape. Tom knows that he was never going to win any case because he is a black man in the 1930s. That's why he tried to escape. it was his only chance at freedom again and he was willing to take it.
  • Bob returns

    Jem and Scout are on their way back from the school pageant. They hear footsteps behind them but they think it was one of their friends trying to scare them. The footsteps kept getting closer and closer next thing they knew someone was attacking them. It was Bob Ewell. He broke Jem's arms but then boo Radley came out and stabbed Bob with a knife and killed him.
  • Scout matures

    Scout matures
    Scout realizes that boo Radley saved her and Jem. She also realizes that Boo Radley is not the monster she made him out to be. He is her new hero.
