The Founder of Scouting
The Boy Scout movement was founded in Great Britain by General Robert S.S. Baden- Powell. He is the founder of Scouting, he started a camp were he taught young boys survival tips and camping which became the starting ground of Scouting. He wrote a book called "Scouting for Boys." He started the organization known as Scouting which is in over 120 countries and has over 3 million members.

Scouts is a organization which is open to all people. Scouts offers leadership and a verity of great activities. Over 120 countries have taken part in scouting and millions of people are in Scouts. Scouts was founded by Baden Powell and his creation of Scouts still continues till this day. There are many parts of Scouting that people can join such as Scouts, Sea Scouts, and venturing crews. Scouts offers life changing experiences and great knowledge. -
Scout Motto
Robert Baden-Powell created the Scout motto known as "Be Prepared." He published it in his book "Scouting for Boys" and in the book he told what be prepared means. He said that It means “you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your duty" (Scouting for Boys). First Scout Camp
Robert Baden-Powell organized a nine day camp at the Brownsea Island, which consisted of 20 teenage boys. At the camp Robert Baden-tested his idea for training boys. In the army he found the best way to teach was in small groups, so he had split the boys into four groups and the oldest were know as the patrol leaders. Scouting for Boys
"Scouting for Boys," written by Robert Baden-Powell was a book which talked about what Robert Baden=Powell did with his troops. The book talked about survival skills such as building fires, stalking animals and talked about proper manners. The book was very popular by many young boys, who practiced the stuff in the book. First National Boy Scout Meeting
There were over 60,000 who were part of the Boy Scouts by the end of 1908. In September 1909 the first Boy Scout meeting was held, it was held at the Crystal palace in London. Sea Scouts
TS Mercury was the last camp that was organized by Robert Baden-Powell. The camp consisted of water based activities. British Boy Scouts

Boy Scouts of America
In 1909 a publisher named W.D. Boyce was visiting London, when he got lost in the fog an unknown Scout came to him and guided him to his destination. Boyce offered him a tip but he refused saying that he was a Scout and doing his good turn daily. This made Boyce interested in Scouts and learned more about it. Girl Scouts
Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts in the USA. A meeting with Robert Baden-Powell inspired her to start the Girl Scouts. She started the first girl troop in Savannah, Georgia. First Eagle Scout
Arthur Rose Eldred from Troop 1 was the first Eagle Scout. He had completed all of his merit badges and all he had left was the board of review. After his board of review on August 21, 1912 he was informed that he was the First Eagle Scout ever. Order of the Arrow
A camp director named E. Urner Goodman, wanted to so something to recognize a selected few campers, because of their cheerful spirit and service to the camp. So to recognize them he made the Order of the Arrow ceremony. Camps recognized this and started adding this to there camps. The Order of the Arrow became one of the high camp honors to earn. Cub Scouts
Boy Scouts was offered to older boys, so Robert Baden-Powell founded the Wolf Cubs, also known as the Cub Scouts. The Cub Scouts were a similar thing to the Boy Scouts except it was offered to younger people and was the bridge way to entering Boy Scouts. The Start of Girl Scout Cookies
It started in Muskogee, Oklahoma when a group of girls had an idea of selling cookies. Other troops began taking part in it and begun selling cookies as well. Girl Scout troops began selling homemade cookies as a way of fundraising. This was the start of the soon to be known Girl Scout cookies. First Scout Jamboree
The jamboree was hosted by the United Kingdom in London. The jamboree had over 8,000 Scouts, the jamboree offered many actives and competitions for the troops to do. There were campsites in which the Scouts set up tents and spent the night there. The jamboree is a means of developing a spirit with and connecting with the other Scouts from other nations. The Official Start of the Girl Scout Cookies
The Girl Scouts had their first sale of the official Girl Scout cookies in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Former first lady Lou Henry Hoover got the Girl Scout cookies rolling by having the first national sale of Girl Scout cookies. It was during this time that the Girl Scout cookies became what they are today. The cookies were not just recognized as regular cookies but recognized as Girl Scout cookies. Order of the Arrow becomes part of the Boy Scout program
Lots of camps began to adopt the Order of the Arrow program. As more camps took part of the Order of the Arrow, it soon then became part of the national Boy Scout program. The Order of the Arrow became part of the national brotherhood of the BSA. The order of the Arrow offers Scouts a chance to become part of something bigger in Scouts and a chance to be recognized as a part of brotherhood.

Philmont High Adventure camp
Philmont is the largest high adventure camp. The camp is located in New Mexico and offers a bunch of actives. The camp is a high adventure camp which is offers to older scouts of ages 14 and above. The camp is a high amount of hiking, requiring the Scouts to walk miles each day to get to there next activity. Scouts help with the war
The Boys Scouts helped collect materials for the war. They collected scraps of metal, paper, and rubber. By the end of April the Scouts had collected over 300,000 tons of wasted paper. The paper was then reused for the war by making posters, paper, and military equipment. They were awarded the Eisenhower Award for the contributions for collecting all that paper. First Eagle Scout to walk on the moon.

First Eagle Scout president
General Ford was the first Eagle Scout to become president of the United States. He was the 38th president and was part of the Boy Scouts. Sea Base
Sea Base is one of the high adventure camps that is offered to scouts. At Sea Base you offered a bunch of actives and options that you can do. Boy Scout Popcorn
The Boy Scouts needed a way to raise money and do fundraisers. The Girl Scouts have been selling cookies and the Boy Scouts needed something that they could sell. So they choose popcorn. 100 years of Boy scouts
Scouts has been around for 100 years now. During those 100 years Scouts has impacted the world, millions of people have taken part of Scouting and have done something with the help of Scouting. Scout Rank
A new rank was added to the Boy Scouts called the Scout rank. It was the first rank that can be earned and must be earned in order to proceed forward and earn the other ranks. You must completed all the requirements first in order to receive the Scout rank. Girls can join Cub Scouts
Before 2017 girls were unable to join Boy Scouts of America. Though this changed as 2017 when the BSA announced that young girls could be a part of Cub Scouts. Girls have the chance to earn Eagle
The Boy Scout program was changed to become just Scouts BSA. There had been arguments about how girls were not able to be a part of the Boy Scouts and could not do what they did. Boy Scouts file for Bankruptcy
