The Missouri Compromise
The resulting decision reached by congress, known as the Missouri Compromise, consisted of a federal ban on slavery north of missouri's southern border. Dred Scott Decision
Born in 1795 Southampton County, Virginia. He was a slave who's master had died and made him a free man before he died. Dred Scott was still thought of as a slave though and was put back into slavery.He sued the surpreme court and was unsuccessful. The news of his denied freedom went throughout the United States. Soon his older master before the one who died, bought him and finally freed Dred Scott. He died in September 17, 1858 a free man. -
John Brown Raid
John Brown was born is 1800 Torrington, Connecticut. He was raised to hate slavery. One day he swar to be active in the abolition movement, he led a unsuccessful attempt to ignite a slave uprising in the south in 1859. He was executed for his crimes in December 2, 1859 -
American Civil War
The American Civil War started as a disagrement against or with slavery. Then it turned to violence. Wars raged on with men fighting for what they believed should happen but in the end with the help of president Lincoln slaves were freed but many lives were lost during the war against the confederates ( South) and Union ( North) -
