    The Titanic received 7 warnings of icebergs near. It was not until 11:40 pm when Frederick Fleet (lookout) spotted an iceberg right in front of them. Unable to turn the ship in time, the Titanic struck the iceberg.

    With the Titanic taking on water, it took the captain 25 minutes to give the crew orders to uncover the lifeboats. Women and children were to be loaded onto lifeboats first.

    The stern of the Titanic broke off and became level in the water for a few minutes before it was taken under water. By this time all of the lifeboats were gone, and about 1500 people were left behid.

    The RMS Carpathia spotted the first Titanic lifeboat at 4:10 am, and stayed in the area rescuing other lifeboats for four hours. Around 8:15, the Carpathia left the area for New York.

    Three days after rescuing Titanic survivors, the Carpathia arrives in New York. Only 705 of the estimated 2,227 people on board the Titanic made it to the destination of New York.
