Past Accidents
Before the Titan II Missile Explosion, Complez 374-7 had an accident on January 27, 1978. Of which an Oxidizer leaked causing toxic fumes as big as 3000 ft. long, 300 ft. wide, and 100 ft. high on to Highway 65. Citizens were evacuated from the area and 4 were effected from the fumes. The leak was repaired right away. -
Missile Explosion
- Immediately after the leak began, the Commander of the 308th Strategic Missile Wing formed a potential-hazard team right away. Then around 9:00 P.M. the site was exacuated.

- One hour after the Accident occurred, the Air Force Security Police began exacuating citizens near the Complez

How it all Started
- Around 6:30 P.M. an airman was working on the Missile and drooped his wrench socket 80 ft. until it hit the Missile´s first stage fuel tank, causing it to leak

Form the accident, 1 airman was killed and 21 were injured -

The Complex was estimated to cost $225,322,670. Sadly the Air Force decided to fill it up with dirt, gravel, and debris from concrete -
Clean up
There was a clean up operation estimating it to cost $20,000,000 with scattered waste 400 acres surrounding the Complex from 400 acres and pumped 100,000 gallons of water from the silo. -
