The British defeated the Colonies in this battle, although the British suffered a significant amount of causalties as well as giving the Colonists a boost in confidence. -

To raise revenue in the Colonies, Colonists needed to pay taxes on goods such as Paper, lead, glass, and most importantly, tea. -

The battles of Saratoga marked a climax in the American Revolution, giving a good chance for the Americans to gain victory over the British. -
Battles of Yorktown
French and American Troops led by General George Washington was a siege against British Soldiers at Yorktown, which ended in defeat for the British. -
Treaty of Paris
After British defeat in Yorktown peace talks in Paris began, which formally ended the war.
