The Chinese Civil was a battle for power between the Chinese Communist Party and the Nationalist Party. The winner being the communists, was lead by Mao Zedong, as the Nationalist Party led by Jiang Jeishi, were defeated. -
Berlin Blockade
From June of 1948 to May of 1949 Berlin, Germany was under a blockade caused by the Soviet Union that ruled over West Germany that surround the capital. They did not allow access to railways, roads, canals, and more during the time from either side. -

The Berlin Airlift was a process started shortly after the start of the Berlin Blockade. Planes carried supplies given by the United States to the city of Berlin, as they needed the precious supplies to survive as they were not allowed to get them anywhere else. -

This document was a 58-page by the National Security Council. It was given to President Truman, and was an important statement that launched the Cold War into place with the Soviet Union. -

MacArthur was a general during the Korean War in the 1950's. This was due to MacArthur's disobedience to authority and policies of the United States. -

A conflict fought in the country of Korea in the 1950's. It was where the communist North Korea invaded South Korea, and South Korea was supported by the United States. -

This was an alliance of Communist East European Nations as an answer to NATO. The original members include Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and the Soviet Union. -
Sputnik
Sputnik was a satellite launched by the Soviet Union. This started the space race between them and the United States as they were the first to output a satellite into space. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
This was a confrontation during the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, and being the closest to starting a military war. The struggle was over missiles being put in Cuba.
