The Truman Doctrine was the declaration for the Cold War. It outlined the parameters for the Cold War and how the U.S. needed to protect foreign countries from the “communism threat.” This idea was not very popular among the people at first. -

Created for the jewish population in Europe. Given almost as a concelation prize for WWII and everything else they suffered. It is the only country mainly populated by Jewish people. -

A beautiful film about a young woman being forced to be a servant in her own home. A classic story everyone knows now. It was a refreshing change for children, going from pretending there was an explosion to singing mice -
Korean War
The korean war was fought between North and south Korea. U.S. troops came in to help South Korea. The Korean War is not over yet. It ended in a cease fire. -

The KGB is basicly the CIA of the U.S.S.R.. Its their secret kepers. It was used to plot agaisnt the U.S. and other non comunist countries -

The Berlin wall was used to divide east and west germany for over 20 yeras. The fear was that communisim would be wiped out in the area on the east side. The west side dint want communisim to spread. The wall had death trenches and guard towers. -

Most powerful bomb ever made. Developped by the U.S.S.R. and was a huge part of the cold war. Caused americans to make more powerful nukes. -

A modernized rifle that changed the game of war. A fully auotmatic weapon that could shoot over 200 meters away. The AKM is the basis of our M16. -

The super bowl is characterfized by the final of the major football teams. The best of th ebest and funny commercials. But what we dont give it enough credit for is that it was peace for america if only for those few hours -
USS Pueblo Incident
The USS Pueblo (a U.S. Navy Vessel) was 16 miles off shore in international waters. North Korea demanded they surrender. The lightly armed vessel knew it was beat and the crew burned all top secret information and shortly after they were captured. They were kept in compound camps and force fed propaganda. -

A palestine Terriorist group took the Israile team hostage. The terriorists killed the hostages and that sparked anger in the Isralies. They hunted down those responsible and killed them. -

Infamous leader of Iran. Helped in the Iranian Hostage Crisis. He overthrew the last shaaw. -
Iran Hostage Crisis
A group of 60 or so Iranian students stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran taking more than 60 American’s hostage. Many people think this is the reason Jimmy Carter didn’t get a second term as president of the United States. -

What was rendered as unspeakable suddenly became all the rage in moscow. People were lining up to get one of those burgers they never had before. Good food has a way of making people want more. -
Dissolving of the Soviet Union
The dissolving of the Soviet Union was when the U.S.S.R. became Russia again and communism was ended. This also ended the Cold War, but left a lot of tension. The now former president of the U.S.S.R. went on national television to say he was ending the U.S.S.R.
