    Canada's economy was not doing so well at the start of the war because of lost of workers, but needed mass amounts of military artillery and other things which opened up many job opportunities keeping the economy stable.

    Canadian Corps Light Railway (+2)
    They used light railways to transport ammunition and supplies directly into the firing lines. The Canadian Corps Founded this and the innovation was very useful. The British wanted to takeover but Arthur Currie, the commander was reluctant after what his troops had accomplished and both agreed that the British soldiers will also volunteer under the Canadian Corps command over the duration of the war.

    Jeremiah Jones challenged racism and fought in the battle of Vimy Ridge. He single-handedly captured a German machine-nest which helped change the overall outcome in the Allies favor. Jones broke through the wall of discrimination and became the first black man that fought alongside in a "white man's war" that many white men recognize.

    Women's roles changed in WWI because of shortage of workers. Many men left to go fight in the war so the economy was not doing so well. They decided to let women work so there were more job opportunities. Also women were volunteering to be nurses and ambulance drivers at the front lines which changed their image from being fragile and weak to strong, brave and courageous individuals. This became the start of women becoming more involved and changing the way everyone sees women as.

    The Battle of Vimy Ridge was one of Canada's most celebrated captures. On April 22,1917, the Canadian's Accomplished what the French had failed to do. Although more than 10,000 Canadians were killed in the process, they achieved what no one else could which made everything they fought for not wasted.

    Sir Robert Borden although led Canada through one of the most difficult times, Borden used many cunning tricks to get people to enlist such as issuing a conscription where any man in a family who was 20-40 had to enlist. But many families who only had one man ad the breadwinner need them to stay and asked for exemptions but they were not passed. This caused many people to get angry.

    On May 24th, 1918, all women 21 years of age or more in Canada were granted the official right to vote even if they did not have the provincial license. This was the first instance where women were called "persons".

    Canadian War Memorial Fund introduced many war artists that could retell the stories of war through art. This changed the art industry making more artists recognized for their works. This was a way to build the economy and also finding a way to never forget the past.

    Canada signed the Treaty of Versailles as their own country and not Britain. Canada also got a separate membership to the League of Nations meaning they were their own country and not part of Britain. They were internationally recognized as a sovereign state and were now known as an official country.

    The French and the English relations were terrible. Borden's win of the election led the nation to succeed in the short term but never tried fixing the relationships with the French and called them traitors.
