The Act gave the Canadian Government the ability to deport what the government considered Enemy Aliens such as those born outside of Canada. It was a violation of basic Human Rights. -

Canadian’s solders first victory. The battle was the first time poison gas was used in the war by the Germans. Despite this Canadians won. -

Females who had relatives in the War were able to vote in elections but those born outside of Canada had the right taken away. Small step for women rights but alienated immigrants -
Battle of Vimy Ridge (1) Political/Social
During this battle, Canadians took over 4000 German prisoners while battling under terrible bad weather conditions and established them as a formidable effective soilders. However, it came at a cost. In his battle, 10,000 Canadians were killed. -
Prohibition (0) Econmonical/social
A solution to a social problem during the War. Women helped with the passing Bill of Prohibition which banned booze in order to encourage better domestic home lives however it created other issues such as bootlegging which is selling alcohol illegally. -
Treaty of Versailles (1) Economical
One of the peace treaties which ended WW1. The responsibility of the War was put on Germany and Germany was forced to pay reparations. Internationally this caused the German’s to increase taxes as a method of making the payments. -
The League of Indians Act (1) Political/Social
Aboriginals had the right to vote in elections but only if they gave up their status. During 1920 The League tired to improve their rights and advocate to keep their status. -
Penicillin Invented (+2) Economical
Penicillin was discovered by young bacteriologist named Sir Alexander Fleming. It was discovered post war by accident, the discovery led to on elf the greatest developments of modern medicine. Post war it was used on my Veterans. -
Stock Market Crash (-2) Economical
Due to the consequences of WW1 such as political, social and economical factors resulting from negative challenges, the stock market crashed. Investors lost money and many went bankrupt. The crash was the beginning of the Great Depression.
