Texas had many changes in who controlled what area. -
Treaty of Paris
treatyThe Treaty of Paris stated that France and Spain had to give up land in North America to Britain. France gave up Canada, and all of the claimed land east of the Mississippi River. Spain gave up Florida. The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian War, and the French threat to the Spanish in Texas was gone. -
Marques Rubi Report
rubiThis was a request from the king of Spain to inspect the missions and presidios in Texas. All missions were then abandoned except for San Antonio and La Bahia. San Antonio would then be the new capital of Texas, and they would all move there to support and strengthen the missions and settlements. -
