Febuary 19th, 1473 to May 24th 1543 During this time Copernicus comes up with his correct geocentric theory. However, he belives that the planet's orbits are circular. -
Feb 15, 1564
Galileo
Febuary 15th, 1564 to January 8th, 1642 During this time period Galileo discovers inertia, which helps explain why planets stay in orbit. he also came up with the telescope. -
Dec 27, 1571
Keplar
December 27th, 1571, to November 15, 1630 During this time period Keplar comes up and explains that all the planets in the solar system move in an elliptcal orbit. He finds this out when comparing and looking at Tycho Brache's observations. -
Newton
December 25th, 1642, to March 20th, 1727 During this time period Sir Isaac Newton comes up with the idea of gravity, which also explains why planets stay in orbit. Newton aso improves on Galileo's idea of inertia. -
Ptolemy
March 2nd, 100 to June 6th, 170* During this time period Ptolemy comes up with the incorrect heliocentric theory, in which all planets orbit around earth. *Please note that Timetoast was messing up somewhat when I made this, so the date is constantly switching from 100 A.D to 2000 A.D.
