Due to the loss in profit, banning alcohol, increased organized crime. This also lead to an increase in the black market, speakeasies, and jazz.

    Women were finally after decades of struggle allowed to vote. This milestone changed America and the rights given to the sexes.

    The KDKA is significant becuase it was the first commmerical radio station. They inspired other radio stations and in four years there was over 600 radio stations in the US.

    The National Origins Act limited immigrants allowed into the United States through a national origins quota. However, discrimaination was still used to allow the entry of immigrants.

    A new risky technique of investing in stocks helps create a wealthy growth in the US. However, decreases when the stock market crashes in 1929.

    The march was done to show how strong the KKK had in numbers. The interest in the klan increased with the increase in immigration.

    John Scopes was found guilty and fined for teaching evolution in a classroom. The Butler Act remained a law in Tennessee. These were some of the hard conflicts that existed in the 1920s.

    Hughes first work of literature, "The Weary Blues," was in the perspective of an African American. It was a great example of the Harlem Renaissance.

    Both Italian men were convicted with murdering a paymaster and guard. The were executed and later found innocent because they had a lack of evidence. This showed the discrimination during the period of the Red Scare.

    He completed his solo flight in a little over 33 hours. This was a part of the new technologies and accomplishments in America.
