Intel unveils 1103 DRAM
Invented by Intel, the 1103 DRAM chip was the first commercially available DRAM memory chip that was able to store a significant amount of information and was produced at a low cost. It overtook magnetic-core memory and became the standard for memory devices in computer worldwide. -
IBM Releases the "Floppy Disk"
IBM and lead inventor Warren L. Dalziel developed the Floppy Disk Drive as early as 1967 not releasing it commercially until 1971. It replaced paper punched cards for data entry and software programming. It made it possible to easily load software and updates onto mainframe computers. Magnavox Odyssey was Released

Today ethernet is used as a direct connection to the internet allowing us to communicate with each other from thousands of miles away. The Altair 8800
Designed by MITS, the Altair 8800 was the first microcomputer kit created and is widely recognized as the spark that ignited the microcomputer revolution. The first programming language for the machine was Microsoft's own Altair BASIC invented by Bill Gates and Paul Allen.
