  • The Currency Act

    The Currency Act
    The Currency Acts was created to end all printing and handing out paper money. The colonists decided to protest against this because of the passing of this act. The government made sure to enfore this act and supported it.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was created to tax all things that used paper. This includes newspapers, books, playing cards, and other documents. This made the colonists very mad and resulted in many protests. This is also where the quote "No Taxation Without Representation" came from. The British government really liked this act because they made a lot of money from all of the documents being sent.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    The Tea Act was created to reduce the amount of tea that the East India company held. There were many protests about this and this is what lead to the Boston Tea Party. After this, the British government decided to impose more rules on the colonies.
  • The Boston Port Act

    The Boston Port Act
    The Boston Port Act was created that shut down all ports to the colonies and made them all pay a very large fine to make up for the tea they threw into the bay. The colonists did not like this act and they all became even more anti-British after it. The British liked this act because they got all of the money back for the team that was thrown into the bay.
  • The Massachusetts Government Act

    The Massachusetts Government Act
    This act was created to help make the Massachusetts governement get more power and for them to run more smoothly. The colonists did not like this act because it messed up the way they ran the governement for all of the colonies. This was a big step towards the American Revolution. The British liked this act because they also got to be apart of who was picked for election so they had more control over the colonies.
