Timeline of Life
-
Going To Disney World
I was about 3 years old and I went to Disney World for the first time with my family and my cousins and I got to go on a plane for the first time which I still remember very distinctively how the plane ride went even though I was so young. -
Grandpa's Death
When I was 7 my only living Grandparent passed away. At the time his death had happened I wasn't really impacted due to the fact that I was to young to understand but looking back on it now I really miss him and wish he could've watched me grow and become an adult. -
Moving to a Different Home
I was raised and grew up in the Bronx up until the 3rd grade when my parents decided they wanted my little brother and I to have a better life then living in a bad area of The Bronx so we moved to Brewster. This totally impacted me because if I still lived there I definitely would be a different person and I'm happy they decided to do this for us back then because it was the right decision even if I didn't agree with moving at first. -
Making New Friends
Being the new kid at school especially when you're young, it's very difficult to find friends and but I found friends and we always had laughs but we all fell out of touch and ended up in different friends groups. -
Finding Out About My Learning Disability
I always was confused with how I had to be separated from the class to work and when my mom finally told me I was shocked and had lost all hope in what I thought I needed to do for school and I never applied myself from that point forward and my grades were very bad and kept declining throughout middle school. -
Middle School
I had made many friends in 4th and 5th grade and I was looking very forward to a new school with all new teachers and things to do and middle school really had impacted who I am as I got older. -
A New Start With New Friends
I was lost in direction of where to go and I didn't have a lot of friends going into high school. Until the end of 8th grade when I started talking to all of my best friends till this day and I learned that some of them had similar disabilities like me and struggled in classes like I did and didn't feel they needed a purpose due to there disability. If it weren't for them I probably would not be motivated to do my work today or try and do my best during school. -
Entering High School
Going into high school, like most freshman I was very scared of "Freshman Friday" but I came to find out that it wasn't even a thing and I was scared for no reason and I had listened to some made up lie to get freshman scared about going into high school. -
Joining Crew
At the beginning of junior year I decided to join stage crew for the drama and musical plays. Joining a club is something that I had never done before and I'm glad that I did it because I got to meet a lot of new people. -
Junior Year (My Favorite Year)
Feeling unmotivated had been my downfall throughout middle school and high school but I don't know going into junior a flip switched in my brain and I had been producing better grades in all my classes than I ever have been before. I finally made honor roll which made my parents so proud of me for finally picking up my grades after struggling for so long in my classes. I also had my favorite teachers ever this year who were always understanding if you were struggling and always offered support.
