The Rural Dealers Ordinance of 1924
This ordinance was meant to cripple the Indian trade. This ordinance also prevented the Indians of having land in White areas. -
The Minimum Wages Act of 1925
This act led to job reservation and promoted White employment. Certain trades were marked only for whites. -
The Liquor Bill of 1926
Indians nor Africans could not be employed by license holders. They were also not allowed on licensed premises. -
The Nationality and Flag Act of 1927
This act made it possible for the denial of Indian the right to become citizens by naturalization. They were not recognized as South African Nationals. -
The Wage Amendment Act of 1930
This act provides minimum wages and conditions to unorganized group of workers in all industries. They wanted to protect the White workers' wages against undercutting. -
The Slums Act: Demolition of Slums of 1934
This act aimed to provide better conditions to locations of Indian property and was forced to expropriate with the aim of segregation. -
The Asiatic Land Tenure Amendment Act No 30 of 1936
This amendment act made the areas further for Indian occupation -
The Mixed Marriages Bill of 1937
Prohibit marriage between Asians, Europeans, and Africans. Mixed marriages are not allowed. -
Factories, Machinery and Building Works Act of 1941
This act made limitations on the number of overtime hours that skilled workers could work in response to challenges. Set minimum safety standards and working conditions.
