    Martin Luther

    Luther implemented the idea of teaching children how to read. Since he himself was so close to his religion, he believed that anybody could become closer to their religion as long as they knew how to read and were literate. His success and efforts reflect in today's world by showing us how reading and education both can change one's life.

    Was a part of the Educationalists and believed that a child was born with no knowledge in their minds, nor good or evil. He and the other Educationalists believed that the select adults surrounding a particular child would influence that child exactly how educated and intelligent they could truly be.

    Jean Jacques Rousseau

    Introduced the concept of Naturalism which is a process for children to learn own their own in a natural, comfortable setting.
    For example, it is imperative for certain colors to be around the children, like bright and colorful instead of dark and boring. In classrooms today, we see a happy and jubilant setting and that impacts childhood largely today, and forever.

    Started a school for infants and firmly believed that in a controlled environment, a well behaved and educated child will be raised. This was essentially the start of creating and having rules and regulations for children , and even adults, in the classroom.

    Friedrich Wilhelm Froebel

    Inventor of the Kindergarten and firmly believed teachers played an essential role in childhood development due to their responsibilities of guiding the children and ensuring the children received all of the appropriate information.
    He also believed children can learn thru playing, and by gifts.

    Elizabeth Peabody

    Was responsible for the first kindergarten in the United States which used the English language. This helped many children because English was obviously well understood, and this also helped permeate educational success throughout the country, making childhood education prevalent.

    Was the one who got Kindergarten to become part of the public school system. Time period in which the first public Kindergarten was created.

    Sputnik

    After being launched into space, Sputnik enticed and prompted the U.S. to offer better educational courses to its children, for example common core courses; including science, math, technology and engineering. There were all course pertinent to Sputnik.
    The National Defense Education Act wanted to set goals for American children when it came to education; this was acted upon by creating a specific curriculum for children of all ages including early childhood.

    The Civil Rights Act of 1964

    This act was remarkable because it made education available equally to all children in public schools. In return, more children of many different races had access to much better education.

    Head Start

    In 1965, Head Start was introduced. The entire Head Start program was designed to help educate young children who come from low income families and provides these children and their parents with assistance and of course, education.
    The designing of Head Start impacted early childhood education because it allows all children, white, black, asian, rich, poor, to all receive educational assistance.
    Once a child starts off with education at a early age, they have the chance to succeed in life.
