    Prenatal Development and Birth

    My mom carried me the full nine months. With the conception occuring sometime in September and my birth June 9, 1989.

  • Period: to

    The First Two Years

    Biosocial: Body, rapid physical growth from birth. Exploration with every sense, perception develops, perception is the recognition of sensation. Smell, taste, sight, sound, and touch.
    Cognitive: The development of intelligence, consious thought and problem solving ability that begins in infancy. Sensory motor intelligence, and language development also occur.
    Psychosocial: Development of personality and the acquitision of socail attitude skills. I didn't laugh until I was a year old.

    The Play Years

    Biosocial: Rapid growth from age 2 to 6. Eating habits change, appetite decreases, I was never forced to eat anything. Motor Skills become more fine-tuned, both gross and fine motor skills.
    Cognitive: Social learning through guided participation with my older siblings and apprentice thinking developed by observing and helping by grandmother.
    Psychosocial: Emotional regulation begins to develop, the ability to control when and how emotions are expressed. Authoritative parenting also helped me.

    The School Years

    Biosocial: Lots of physical activity and playing outside also occurs. By this age I could do many tasks independently such as dress, wash, and make food for myself.
    Cognitive: Logical reasoning of experiences and perceptions develop. Language and vocabulary rapidly increases. I took longer to learn how to read so my grandma got me "hooked on phonics" which worked for me.
    Psychosocial: Social comparisons and assesment of others as well as building peer groups. Recogniton of family structure.

    Adolescence

    Biosocial: Puberty begins between 8 and 14 years old become more aware of body image. Sexual maturation primary and seconday sex characteristics develop. First sexual expericene usually occurs in this stage.
    Cognitive Development: Most adolescents are egocentric. Formal operation thought develops and adolescents can consider abstract ideas/thoughts. Typically from middle school through highschool.
    Psychosocial: Search for identity "Who am I?" Sexual identity, etc. Romantic relationships form.

    Emerging Adulthood

    Biosocial: Further maturation of the body and mind. Sexual-reproductive system is at its stongest during emerging adulthood. Sexaul activity may increase.
    Cognitive Development: Postformal thought occurs more practical, flexable thinking Dialectical thought said to be the most advanced cognititve process. Adolescents is when many people go to college.
    Psychosocial: By this time in life Identity should have been achieved. Relationships become more serious and marriage may occur.

    Adulthood

    Biosocial: Senescence begins- is the gradual physical decline that occurs with age. And affects every part of the body. Hearing and vision loss can also be apart of senscence. Sexual responsiveness is slower and fertility is reduced. For women menopause occurs.
    Cognitive: Analytic intelligence and Practical intelligence. People become professionsal or experts in some field weather it be nursing or children.
    Psychosocial: Social clock, possibility for midlife crisis. Adults become caregivers.

    Late Adulthood

    Biosocial: Primary aging universal changes that occur with senscence and secondary againg the consequences of particular disease. Cardiovascular disease, stroke, respiratory disease, and cancer are all common.
    Cognitive: More difficulty with working memory, dual-task deficit, long term memory may start to decrease as well.To help prevent Alzheimer's Disease do mind exercises regularly.
    Psychosocial: Retirement and adjustment after.
  • Death

    According to my life expectancy evaluation I should live to the ripe old age of 89. I feel like this is enough time for me to have lived a long and meaningful life. Hopefully with children of my own, grandchildren and maybe even geat-grandchildren. :)
