    Also analyzed in class, this was used to teach us to pick apart a plot and recognized the different components of one
  • Start reading 'Of Mice and Men'

    Approximate date, close guess considering the second chapter had to be read the the beginning of class the next day. Beginning of our unit where we learnt to analyze moral decisions/dilemmas faced by characters
  • Start reading 'To Kill a Mockingbird'

    We study and learn about segregation and rascism in Southern United States after the Civil War from the naive perspective of main character Scout. During class we break the story into pieces and proceed to interpret it
  • We leave for Christmas holidays

    I went to Chile, it was pretty cool
  • We return from Christmas holidays

    School resumes, we're all braindead from vacations

  • Biography Project

    A fun, investigative project on oneself or one's favourite person. Though everyone varied in how they chose to carry out their homage, they all centred around the summarized retelling of someone's life and achievements, which we learnt much about
  • Grammar Review

    We start out grammar review with an inital focus on nouns and pronouns, which is then expanded to include verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. We then learn their rules and uses
  • We begin to read 'Maus'

    We start to read Maus as part of our unit on the Holocaust, it's our fist inlook into what hardships Jews went through during those dark days
  • We begin to read 'Night'

    Unlike Maus, Night gives insight into what life was like in concentration camps and provides a more personal narrative, giving examples of what it was like to go through such things.
  • 'We Remember' Project

    Another biographical yet more heavily investigative project were we learnt about the holocaust from yet another perspective all the while honing our research skills. We then wrote a eulogy where we handled a more sentimental style of writing
  • Final project is due

    Andrea gets a well deserved 'A' grade
