  • The slave trade - The Caribbean

    The slave trade was a part of the triangle trade. The slaves were traded from Africa to The Caribbean. In the Caribbean the slaves were sold at acutions to owners of large colonies. The slaves then worked on plantations.
  • The east India company - India

    It was the queen of England, Queen Elizabeth I that started the East India Company to develop the trade between India and Britain. There was a special dictionary called Hobson Jobson that helped the Indians and Britain to understand each other under the trade.
  • The first fleet - Austraila

    Before that the English people came to Australia the people that lived there were called the Aboriginal. But in 1788 11 ships were loaded with about 780 English prisoners. The English prisoners were sent to Australia as a punishment and were not allowed to return back. That is the start of how Australia became an English speaking country.

    English is an official language in 67 countries.
