the Rodney King riots were begun after 4 white policemen were acquitted of brutally beating Rodney King, an African American man. These riots caused 50 deaths, 2000 injuries and over 1 billion dollars worth of damages. The police were acquitted even after there was proof of video. -

9/11
On September 11, 2001, two jetliners were hijacked and rammed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in the worst terrorist attack known to the US. Later, a third plane was rammed into the Pentagon, and a fourth crashed in rural Pennsylvania.
