  • French & Indian War

    a massive conflict involving Austria, England, France, Great Britain, Prussia, and Sweden. It was the beginning of open hostilities between the colonies and Gr. Britain. England and France they had been having conlfict between each other since 1689. It ended up in 1763 with the failure of French, and the treaties of Paris which distributed the land belonged to France before
  • The proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation was issued by King George III after the French & Indian War. The Proclamation of 1763 was made following the British victory over France in the French and Indian Wars. It was perceived as being beneficial to the Native American Indians and Great Britain but as unfair and not benificial to the colonists.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act was established because British wanted to raise the revenue of American colonies. The Stamp Act was the first direct tax on domestically produced and consumed items. The American colonies consider themselves as citizens of Britain. So they did not think they should pay tax. They were upset about it
  • Boston Tea Party

    Governor Thomas Hutchinson allowed three ships carrying tea to enter Boston Harbor. Before the tax could be collected, Bostonians took action. They ran to the harbor and took all the tea from the ship and threw 342 chests of tea into water to show their dissaticfaction. This act made the British government outragous.
  • First Continental Congress

    The first Continental Congress was held in Carpenter's Hall in Philadelphia. 12 of the 13 colonies attended the meeting.It was the first concerted effort of American colonies to unite under a common cause towards secession from the British Crown. This was the first step of American people being independant and to be a country.
