First day of elementary school
I was worried about riding the bus and finding a seat. It made me really nervous to meet all these new kids. I was relieved when I started to make friends. It was always so fun that we got to play outside and run around. I would always get sad to leave at the end of the day but excited to see my parents. -
Softball Championship
I was so happy to win my first softball championship. It was shocking to beat them by 5 points even though they were the best team that year. I was really tired from playing but we all had to get our pictures taken. I was excited that my coach was taking us all out for ice cream. I was really proud of all the hard work I did with softball that year to get to that championship. -
Moved into new home
I was so excited to get our first house in Hummelstown. It was a relief that I did not have to ride the bus to school anymore. I was really happy that my mom said I was aloud to get a bedroom makeover. It was kind of sad to leave my friends in my old neighborhood. I was nervous to get out and make new friends in the area. -
COVID_19
It was really scary that everyone was getting sick and so many deaths happened. I was really upset to do online school at home and not be with my friends that year. I was really nervous about getting the vaccine because I was not sure how my body would react to it. I was so mad that I had to wear a mask everywhere I went. I felt very lucky that even though my father and brother got it I was able to get through without ever having COVID. -
Rising cost of living
It was sad to see how much this effected everyone in my life. I was really frustrated that this was not something I could change. For the first time I worried about having money for our vacations and traditional events that our family did every year. I was happy that I did not drive and didn't have to pay for gas, but was mad that my parents did. -
Getting my new dog
I was excited to add this new addition to my family. I was really happy that we were able to rescue her from the situation she was in. It made me nervous to take on this responsibility but I knew it would work out. It was overwhelming to learn all the new things about taking care of my dog. I was sad to spend so much money on a new puppy. -
My First Job
I was really scared to go into my interview and start my new job. It was overwhelming completing the paperwork that I had to do when first starting. I was really happy that I got a bunch of my friends to come work with me and make my time there fun. It was exciting to get my first check and open a bank account. I was a little sad when I realized how much of my free time got taken away. -
Texas elementary school shooting
It was really scary to hear that someone could shoot children while they were at school. It was so sad to see the families and little children that would suffer from this. I grieved for the parents and teachers that had to go through this. I was so disappointed that the world could be so cruel and how someone could ever do something like this to anyone let alone children. -
Queen Elizabeth's death
It was shocking when I heard the new that Queen Elizabeth had passed. It was crazy to see all the memes that were made about this sad even. I was happy that the family was able to make this a big deal and she was given a very nice service. Overall it was still a sad event in my lifetime. I felt the grief for her family and friends. -
Hurricane Ian 2022
It was so upsetting to see all the damage photos. It was scary to think that something like this could happen even where we are. I was really sad for all the families that lost all their things. I was pretty amazed by what nature could do. I am curious to see how long it will take them to rebuild.
