The fugitve slave act was passed and resulted in many free black people being captured, bought and sold illegaly. Many slaves were worth 100-150 dollars. The slave owners were very serious when there slaves ran away, and would pay a lot of money to get them back, maybe just to kill them for running away. -
Uncle Tom's Cabin was Published
Uncle Tom's Cabin, the book, was published in 1852. The book was inspired by the fugitive slave act, she was against slavery. By writing this book, "Uncle Tom's Cabin" she changed the way some people looked at slavery. -
