united states constitution
the united states constitution was a kind of hyped up set of laws that basicly set the framework for the united states government
in the thirteenth amemdment it says that it will abolish slavery forever. this was one of the key things to help fight slavery all though the thirteenth amendment was not added until after it was originally signed -

the amercian revolution was the time period in wich the american settlers revolted from the british because the british were taxing the americans unfairly.this relates to slavery because after the american revolution the americans started trading with europe and africa to form the slave triangle. -

also known as the missouri compromise the compromise of 1820 was a bill passed that basically phrohibited slavery in the west where there was no states. this was good for the slaves because that meant that fewer slaves would be made therefore weakining the pro slavery faction andultamitlly allowing the north to win the civil war. -

kansas nebraska act
the kansas nebraska act of 1854 was an act that made the territories kansas and nebraska. the initial reason behind the act was so there would be more farmland for farming. the writer for the bill stephen a. douglas wrote that there would be popular sovergnaty in those states meaning that the people in those states would choose if they wanted slaves or not. the result was people flooding into the states to make it a slave/nonslave state -
dread scott decision
the dread scott case commonly known as the dread scott decision was a case where the slave dread scott sued his owner with no avail. his claim was that while he was a slave him his family and his master were not in a slave state so havinf=g slaves was illegal. -
emancipation proclamation
the emcipation proclamation was a " executive order" made by the president of the united states abraham lincoln. the order freed all slaves in tenstates wich in effect freed 3.1 million out of the 4 million slaves.most people belive this was from the goodnes of his heart and that may have been on his mind at the time but primarily thererason was tactical to win the war.
