'Teddy' Roosevelt Born
Theodore Roosevelt was born in New York City. His parents were Theodore and Martha Roosevelt. He had three siblings, Anna, Elliot, and Corinne, Teddy was the the middle child. -
Attends Harvard College
He studied Biology for four years and graduated in 1880. He never does get a job in biology because he goes into law school but drops out one year later. -
Elected to the New York Assembley
The magin was 3,490 to 1,989 votes. He served in this assembley till 1884.This is also where he bacome the leader of his republican party. -
Teddy Publishes First Book, 'The Naval War of 1812'
It was written when Teddy was in College and was about naval strategies. This book was a required book to read for the Naval Academy for many years. -
Joins National Guard
Teddy starts as a lieutinate then was promoted to captain one year later. -
Governer of New York
During his time of being Governer he was a major help and spent a lot of his time trying to take out corruption. -

During this time Theodore did much of the same things he did when he was governer except made many more speeches during this time. -
Becomes 26th President of the United States
Theodore becomes president because Pesident William Mckinley got shot. Theodore was the youngest man to become president at that time. -
Teddy Settles Venezuelan Affair
The crises was over president Cripriano Castro's refusal to pay forgein dept and damage by a recent Venezuelan civil war. The problem was solved by the development of a statement in the Monroe Doctrine that stated the right of the United States to help smaller states in the Caribean and Central America areas that were unable to pay their depts. -
Establishes Crater Lake National Park
Theodore loved nature and created five national parks in all. He also was a big hunter and spent much of his leasure time outdoors. -
Newlands Reclamation Act Signed
This act is a law that funded irregation projects for the arid lands of 20 states in the west. -
Isthmian Canal Act
This was an act that provided the construction of the Panama Canal. The Panama Canal is a canal that connects the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. The canal was completed in 1914. -
Roosevelt Settles Anthrocite Act
This was a strike that the coal miners of america created. The miners wanted higher wages, less hours, and more credit. Roosevelt ended this by giving the workers what they desired. -

This was a cabnit responsible for overseeing labor laws and regulations. -
Elkins Anti-rebate Act for Railroads Signed
This was an act that let the Interstate Commerce Comission to put heavy fines on railroads that offered rebates. -

Teddy got re-elected over democrat Alton B. Parker. -
Portsmouth Treaty Signed
This Treaty ended the Russio-Jappanese war -
Forest Homestead Act
This act allowed people to settle on land that was meant for agurculture that is located in National Forests. -
Signs Hepburn Act
This gave Interstate Commerce Commission power to regulate railroad rates. -
Signs Pure Food and Drug Act and Federal Meat Inspection Law
This law allowed inspection of meat products and disallowed the trade of poisonous patent medicines. -
Awarded Nobel Peace Prize
Roosevelt was awarded this because he ended the Russo-Japanese war and was the first american to win the Nobel Peace Prize in any of the six categories. -
Becomes Editor for Outlook Magazine
Teddys first artical in the weekly magazine was on March 6th 1909. -
Roosevelt Gets Shot
Theodore got shot in the chest while entering a vehicle outside a hotel. The shooter was a man named John Neponuk Schrank. But before Teddy gets any medical attention, he delivers a 90 minute speech. The bullet never gets taken out and Roosevelt survives the incedent. -
Roosevelts Presidency Ends
Woodrow Wilson gets elected president over Roosevelt however Roosevelt was the second runner up. Wilson got 6,293,454 popular votes, 450 electoral votes and Roosevelt got 4,119,538 popular votes, 88 electoral votes. -
Roosevelt Requests Volenteer Service in France in WWI
Though Roosevelt requests it to president Wilson. Wilson decides to deny it but Roosevelt makes the statement, "Peace is not the end. Righteousness is the end... If I must choose between righteousness and peace, I choose rightouness." -

At age 60 Theodore Roosevelt dies in his sleep from arterial blood clottage.
