    The Simnell Rebellion

    Based around the 10 yr old pretender Simnel, offered amnesty by Henry following the failure of the Rebellion, it led to the Battle of Stoke and death of John de la Pole. Many see it as the end of the Wars of the Roses.
    Phillipa Langley sees it as part of a bigger conspiracy.

    Richard's Northern Supporters rebel against Henry. It doesn't go very well.

    An alliance was supposed to formed between the HRE and Henry. Max immediately broke their deal

    The Yorkshire Rebellion

    Triggered by a military tax to help fund Henry's alliance in Brittany, it was easily defeated by the Earl of Surrey. The tax was stopped and Brittany was payed 100,000 crowns instead.

    He introduced 'Poyning's Law' where Kildare was punished, the rebellions of chiefs were crushed and more power over Ireland was given to England

    Henry persuaded to join the league against Charles VIII with the knowledge he was not required to fight France.

    The council learned was in charge of bonds and recognisances for the nobles and was widely hated. There was no chance of appeal if you were called before the Council Learned

    Reinistates trade between Burgundy and England and had very good terms for the cloth trade in particular

    Triggered by a tax that was to pay for a potential war on the Yorkshire/ Scotland border, over 15,000 men joined with very little opposition on their march until they reached Kent.

    Peace between Scotland and England relied on peace between England and France.

    The Rebellion of the de la Poles

    In 1499, Edmund de la Pole kills a man. He flees to Burgundy before being pursuaded to return.
    In 1501, He and his brother flee again to the court of the HRE. Maximilian extorts Henry until 1505 and in 1506, Edmund is handed back to Henry under the Intercursus Malus

    She brought with her a dowry of 100,000 crowns

    Proclamation saying that lords had to have a 'placard' or license to retain. Fines of £5 per month per illegal retainer where introduced.

    When Phillip of Burgundy is shipwrecked off the coast of England, Henry forces him to sign a deal that only benefitted the English.

    This was eventually split between 26 others and then scaled down again.
