Sheikh Muhammed Bin Thani
Sheikh Muhammed Bin Thani was born in Fuwawairat and inhearated leadership after his father died. He spread his leadership through Qatar with the help of Faisal Bin Turki, the emir of the second Saudi State. Under Sheikh Muhammed Bin Thani's rule in 1868, he signed a treaty with Britan after Qatar became an independent emirate. He was then recognized as the ruler of Doha. His rule ended on 18 December 1878 when he died. -
Shiekh Jassim Bin Mohammed Bin Thani
Shiekh Bin Mohammed Bin Thani was born in 1825, He became the ruler of Qatar in 1876 when the ottomans gave him the title of Deputy Governer. In his rule, the Ottomans tried to take over Qatar by creating a customs office and by assingning administrators in Doha, Zubara, Wakrah and Al-Khor. He eventually drove away the Ottomans in the battle of Al-Wajbah. He died in 17 July 1913. -
Shiekh Abdullah Bin Jassim Al-Thani
Shikeikh Abdullah Bin Jassim Al-Thani was born in Doha in 1880. He took controll of Qatar On July 17th 1913. The British and Ottomans recognized him as the ruler of Qatar. On November 3rd 1916, He signed a treaty with Britan to bring Qatar under their protection. Under these conditions Qatar was incapable of creating aliances with any countries without the aproval of Britan. Oil was discovered during his rule in 1940. -
Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani
Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani was known for his generosity and was an author and poet. Under his rule, Qatar was at an increase in oil production. On december 31 19949, the first oil shipment went from Dukhan and the country slowly started to stabalize. On September 1, 1952, an agreement with Iraq ptroleum Company was signed in which Qatar qould get 50% of the profits. He died on 31 August 1947. -
Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani
Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani was born in 1920 in Doha. He became a ruler on October 24, 1960. During his time, countries in the Arabian Gulaf started asking for independence, and Britan withdrew from this area. Qatar then became an independent country on september 3, 1971. Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani ended his rule on 22 February 1972 and died on 25 November 1977. -

Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani was accepted as ruler of Qatar on Febuary 22, 1972. He helped strengthen relationships between Qatar and other countries around the world. In his time the Qatar University and Hamad General Hospital was made. -
Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani
Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani was born in 1952. He had primary, prep and secondary education and graduated in 1971. He was chosec as crown prince in 1977 and assumed his place in 1995. He is still living to this day. -
Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani
Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani was born on June 3 1980. He graduated from Sherbon in the UK And assumed his control over Qatar on Tuesday, 25th June 2013. He is the current emir of Qatar.
