Sepoy mutiny
The first indian revolution, called the Sepoy Mutiny which was unseuccessful. It started in Deli when the indian sepoys refused to use the cartriges given by the British. That is what lit the fuse but unfortunately it failed. -
The Indian National Congress
A group of middle-class intellectuals in India, some of them British, found the Indian National Congress to be a voice of Indian opinion to the British government. This was the origin of the later Congress Party. -

Muslim leauge, the political party in India is formed. It is the one fighting for muslim independence. -
Hindu Balinese murder
Dutch Christians overtake Bali after Puputan massacres in which Hindu Balinese royal families are murdered. -
Massacre in Amritser
Brigadier Dyer orders troops to shoot unarmed demonstrators in Amritsar, killing 379 innocent people. The massacre convinces Gandhi that India must demand full independence from oppressive British rule. -
Draft plan
Hindu leader Jawaharlal Nehru drafts plan for a free India; becomes president of Congress Party in 1929. -
Seperate Country
The Muslim League (Mohammad ALi Jinnah) declares the=ier desire and idea of a seperate Muslim country. -
Quit India Movement
Finally in 1942, India pressurised the British too much and forced them to quit India. This movement was called the "Quit India" movement. -
Mission Accopmlished
India gains independence from Britain August 15. Pakistan emerges as a separate Islamic nation, and 600,000 die in clashes during subsequent population exchange of 14 million people between the two new countries.
