  • Herman Talmadge

    Herman Talmadge Bio Herman Talmadge, he was a white supremacist. He won a very biased election in 1948 against Melvin Thompson. He was then relected in 1950.
  • Martin Luther King Jr.

    Martin went to public segregated school. He graduated high school at age fifteen. He attended Morehouse College. Through 1957-1968 he traveled all over the states to give speeches. He organized a peaceful demonstration of 250,00 people at Whashington.
  • Brown v. Board Of Education

    Brown v. Board Of Education, This is were the Supreme Court ruled that segregated schools are unconstituitional. But Georgia held back, Georgia did not put the law into effect until the government demanded them too.
  • 1956 Flag Of Georgia

    Half of the flag is Confederate Battle Flag, because 2 senators were intrested on Georgia's Confederate History. When the senators first put out the law it wasn't voted on, but after the case of Brown v. Board Of Education the flag immediately had a confederate battle flag.

    The Albany Movement, it lasted through the summer of 1962. The summer was filled with sit-ins and voter registration drives. Created huge attention to Albany.
  • March On Washington

    March On Washington was a gathering of 250,00 people to do a peaceful demonstration. There is where Martin gave his speech "I Have a Dream". John F. Kenney was really intrested in the march.
  • Civil Right Act

    Civil Rights Act is a decision the disallowed people to disscrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. It ended unequal voting apllications, and unfair workspace and transportation.
