Getting to Know the Students - Ice Breakers and Class Art Project -
1st 9 Weeks
The 1st 9 Weeks will be dedicated to a variety of English Language Arts activities in the areas of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language. We will focus our reading on Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time, writing will be narrative/autobiographical, we will practice listening to and following directions, and working wth the parts of speech. -
Parts of Speech Poem
Students will memorize and recite the parts of speech poem. -
Introduction to Nouns
Student will learn to identify and apply the use of collective, compound, common, proper, abstract, and concrete nouns -
Alphabiography
The Alphabiography is a narrative writing assignment where the students will write about their lives using the alphabet. Each letter of the alphabet will represent a person, place, thing, or event in their lives that has had an impact on them.
