The Decembrist Revolt
Started in 1825 of December on the 26th. The Decembrists revolt led an uprise inprotest of Nicholas the first. Nicholas tried taking the throne over his brother Constantine. It was to show that people's loyalty to the czar was eroding. -
Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne
Nicholas the Second becomes Czar of Russia. Born May, 1868, Bicholas did not want to become Czar because he thought that he did not have the leadership skills. Nicholas was more of a family man. Eventually he became the last Czar ever and his family get exected. -
Russian war in Japan
The Russian war in Japan started 8 February 1904 – 5 September 1905. It was bewtwwn the russian empiorand Japan. They had fought over Korea and Manchuria. Some of that Russia was in the war that they wanted warm water port on the pacfic ocean. Japan offered only Machchuria and wanted korea to themselves. -
Bloody Sunday
Protesters were marching, the gerneral told the soldiers to shoot at them. The protesters were protesting about their working conditions. Since they all got shot at and killed, it is now know as bloody sunday. -
World War 1
Russia came into the war with the largest army. Russia wanted to protect Sibera. So Russia joined the war to help sibera. They were enemies to germany anyways. -
Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
Nicholas II the czar of Russia from 1894 to 1917, was a staunch defender of autocracy. A weak monarch, he was forced to abdicate, thus ending more than 300 years of Romanov rule in Russia. -
The March Revolution
The March Revolution was more focused around Petrograd. That is now know as Saint Petersburg at the capital of Russia. In the chaos, members of the Imperial parliament or Duma assumed control of the country, with had formed the Russian Provisional Government. -
The Russian Civil War begins
The Russian Civil war had begun. The Red Army was successful in defending the newly formed Bolshevik government. The red army were fighting against various Russian and interventionist anti-Bolshevik armies. -
The creation of the U.S.S.R.
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics began with Russia and three other republics. The other three republics were the Belorussia, Ukraine and the Transcaucasian Republic. -
Vladimir Lenin’s Death
Vladimir Lenin, the architect of the Bolshevik Revolution and the first leader of the Soviet Union. He died of a brain hemorrhage. He was only 54 years old.
