200,000 workers and their families approached czar's winter palace. They had a pettition asking for better working conditions. Generals ordered to fire on the workers. -

An unprepared military went to war with its weak generals and poorly equiped soldiers. Were defeated many times during the war resulting in more than 4 million Russian soldiers dead, wounded or captured. -
Women go on strike
Women textile workers had a city wide strike starting riots over bread and fuel shortages. 200,000 workers stormed the streets shouting and got shot at, until the soldiers sided with them. -
Bolsheveks gain control
People were rallying in cities chanting phrases. Armed factory workers stormed the winter palace calling themselves the Bolshevek Red Guards. -
Germany- Russia treaty
Russia and Germany signed the treaty of Brest-Litovsk. Russia lost territory and it started a civil war. -
White vs Red
Many nations sent in military to help the white army. Red guards defeated white army. 14 million of Russians died from hunger and flu epidemics. -
Lenins' New Rule
Lenin made a form of capitalism called New Economic Policy. Peasants could sell crops instead of giving them to the government. -
USSR Is Made
Russia was named the Union of Soviet Socialist Rebpublic in honor of people that helped in starting the Bolshevik Revolution
