Czar Alexander I signed a secert manifesto, naming his brother Nicholas as taking the throne. The rest of the counrty believed that the throne would go to Alxeanders eldest brother but he was married to a Polish countess in 1820. -

Nicholas was not trained nor was he inclined to rule. -
The Russo-Japnese War
The Russo-Japanese War was "the great war of the 20th centery". It all started because Russia rejected the Japanese plan to divide Manchuria and Korea into spheres of influence, then Japan launched a naval attack against Port Arthur, a Russian naval base in CHina. -
The Revoltion of 1905
The Revoltion of 1905 was a big political and social distrubtion. Most of it was towards the government, but soem was indirected. It included worker stikes, peasants unrest, and military mutinies. -
The March Revolution
Rasputin had died and Lenin was not in Russia at the time. The citizens of Russia were very angry. -
Czar Nicholas II abdicates thrown
Czar Nicholas did not choose to abdicate the throne he was forced to by th Petrograd insurgents and then a procincial government was installed in his place. -
Vladimir Lenin and Bolshevicks capture Winter Palace
Lenin was determined to lead his Bolsheviks to power by exploiting the war-weariness that affected the Russian people. Lenin demanded an assult on the Winter Palace on Oct. 25th. -
The Russian Civil War Begins
It was a multi-party war in the Russian Empire. It was the two largest combatant groups ( the Red Army and the Bolshevicks) fighting for socialism. -
Alexander Kerensky becomes leader of the Provisional Government
Right after Nicholas II abdicates the throne, the Provisional Government is put together. This government replaced the Concil of Minsters of Russia. This government was ran by Prince Georgy Lvov then soon replaced by the socialist Alecander Kerensky -
Nicholas II and his family are Executed
Russian Czar Nicholas II and his immdiate family were executed by Bolshevicks in the cellar of Ipatiev House in Ekaterinburg. After his death the Provisional Government was put to replace him. -
Lenin dies; Stalin becomes leader of Soviet Union
After Lenin died, Stalin took that chance and came to power as fast as he could. Stalin was one of the many Bolshevick leaders. -
Bloody Sunday
Bloody Sunday happend in Selma, Alabama. Six hundred marchers assembled that day as they walked throught the city, then they got blocked by Alabama State Troopers and local police where they were told to turn around. The protesters refused so the troopers and police just started shooting teagas and waded into the crowd and beat the non-violent protestors.
