The Russian Revolution

  • The Decembrist Revolt

    Took place in Imperial Russia. Russian army officers led around 3,000 protestors to protest about Nicholas the first taking the throne after his brother Constantine. The revolt ended horrbly with many dead.
  • Nicholas II becomes Czar

    Nicholas the II became the czar unwillingly always saying that he thought he wsn't made to be czar or that he would mess up. Nicholas II became the czar after his father died of ill health and his father failed to teach Nicholas any lessons of being a czar. Nicholas was crowned czar on November 1, 1894.
  • The Russo-Japenese War

    The Russo-Japenese War was the first Great War of the century. Russia wanted a warm-water port to be able to trade from all year lon, but Japan didn't want them to have the port because of past wars with them. Russia declared war with Japan. Russia lost every battle against Japan.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Happened in St, Petersburg, where unarmed protestors marched to the Winter Palace, but were shot down by imperial soldiers of the czar, Nicholas II. This event helped cause the Russian Revolution that overthrew the czar and his family.
  • Russia Enters WW1

    Russia was declared war on by Austria. The first battle The Russian Army was in was the Battle of Stalluponen. Although, Russia had to retreat from the fronts after losing 3 million soldiers and running low on supplies.
  • The March Revolution

    The March Revolution was a part in the Russian Revolution. This part was teh first of many and in this part the czar and his autocracy was overthrown. The government was replaced with a provisional government until they were overthrown again. The March Revolution led to the creation of the Soviets and the USSR.
  • Czar Nicholas II abdicates the throne

    The czar had to step down after his people were all angry at the royal family. Riots ran untreated for in cities and Nicholas II stepped down to try and ease the tension and have Russia get a new leader and to keep his family safe.
  • The Russian Civil War

    The Russian Civil War was a multi-party war in Russia right after the Russian Revolution. The war was to decide Russia's future. The two main parties in this were the Red Army fighting for the Bolsheviks and the White Army fighting for many diverse views of Russia's future. The Red Army had beaten the White Army in southern Russia and the Red Army had then taken control of the government and made it into a Socialist Government.
  • Creation of the USSR

    The Treaty of the Creation of the USSR was approved Decmber 29, 1922. The USSR allowed for more members to be allowed onto the Communist Committee. The first leader of the USSR was Lenin and the second leader was Stalin. The USSR was created by Lenin.
  • Vladimir Lenin's Death

    Lenin was the first leader of the new Soviet Russia. Lenin was a kind man compared to the next leader, Joseph Stalin. Lenin had died of two strokes. Lenin also feared that if Stailin were to be the next leader Russia would see a terrile future and going so far as to say that someone should remove Stalin from the government party before he becomes leader.
