Ending on November 11, 1918, World War I was started after the assasination of the heir to the Austria-Hungary, Franz Ferdinand and his wife. Originally being Austria-Hungary, Germany, and Italy versus Serbia, France, Great Britain, and Russia, many countries allied against the Ottoman Empire. Italy ended up switching sides, and Romania, Japan, and the US joined as well. The allied forces ended up winning with no surprise.
