  • Founding of the Colonies

    The 13 colonies in the East Coast, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts bay, Maryland, South Carolina, New Jersey, Virginia, new York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and providence plantations, were founded by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, John Jay, Alexander Hamilton. The 13 colonies were mostly founded for one reason, to provide more land for settlers
  • The French and Indian War

    French and the British fought in war that lasted 9 years. It was fought all around Europe and ended in America
  • Sugar Act, Quartering Act, Currency Act, Stamp Act

    The British put taxes on sugar, molasses and paper. The colonists had to give food and shelter to British Soldiers if they asked. The British also didn't allow the colonists print their own money.
  • Sons of Liberty

    Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, Patrick Henry, John Hancock formed a group to protect the colonists
  • The Boston Blockade

    The British closed all the ports in Boston until the colonists would pay back the british for the tea lost in the Boston Tea Party
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Sons of Liberty threw 40 tons of tea of the british ships to protest the tea taxes.
  • The First Continental Congress

    56 delegates from the colonies, including Patrick Henry, George Washington, John Adams, and John Jay, came together to make a draft of a declaration of rights against the Intolerable Acts
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The British made up the intolerable acts. These were meant to punish colonist for the Boston Tea Party and other protest. They were passed in 1774
  • "No Taxation Without Representation"

    The phrase "No Taxation Without Representation" was a popular slogan because the colonists were mad about the British taxing them without their permission
  • Paul Revere's "Ride"

    Paul Revere and William Dawes rode from Boston to Lexington to warn the colonist and John Hancock, and Samuel Adams that the British were coming to arrest John and Sam. Paul's "ride" occurred April 18th-19th 1775
  • Lexington and Concord

    This was the first revolutionary battle. Held in Lexington and Concord on April 19th 1775. For years tension was built between residents of the 13 colonies and the British.
  • Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense”

    Thomas Paine's boom called "Common Sense" was published in 1776, and it's main purpose was to help American Colonists fight for their freedom.
